Which plans can PlanTape snap to?
Vector PDFs — the kind exported from CAD or most architectural software — unlock full centerline snapping. Scanned or photographed (raster) plans still open and can be measured freely after calibration, but without magnetic snapping.
How do I set the scale?
Tap Calibrate, drag along any printed dimension line on the plan, and type its real-world value. PlanTape locks that scale to the whole drawing and can suggest it automatically from the PDF.
Does it work offline?
Yes — completely. PlanTape needs no account and no connection. Everything runs on your device, so it works in a basement with no signal.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your device. PlanTape has no servers and collects nothing. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How do I share a measured plan?
Use the share button to export a flattened PDF or image through the standard iOS share sheet — Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, or any app you like.
